I’ve been fortunate to receive questions from several readers of my book Killer Dead, Victim Alive ($2.99 for the ebook and free on KindleUnlimited). Here are five recent ones.
Q. Killer Dead, Victim Alive has a startling cliffhanger ending that some readers love and some hate. Do you plan on writing a sequel book?
A. It’s in the works. Keep your summer reading time open!
Q. Are all the main characters back in the sequel?
A. Well, I can’t go into detail. But I can tell you that because a great number of issues need to be resolved, you can expect to re-engage with those characters you loved (and hated) in Killer Dead, Victim Alive. And you might be surprised to see some you forgot about!
Q. Did you already know how you were going to resolve that cliffhanger ending when you wrote it?
A. I could lie and say I did. But I didn’t have a clue. But that makes working on the sequel so much more enjoyable because I only find out when the words pass from my fingers to the keyboard and to the screen.
Q. Chrissy Weeks is a rather unique character. How did you create her?
A. I took all the Chrissy Weeks, both male and female, I had met in my life, mixed them together, and selected individual pieces. Just for the record, however, none of the real-life ones were at the Chrissy level.
Q. Mollie Granger features in two interesting relationships in the book: one with her domestic partner, Gwen, and the other with her professional partner, Greg Nichols. Was that deliberate?
A. Not necessarily deliberate, but Mollie was incredibly interesting to me even before I wrote the first word about her. I knew she would be a person with very strong beliefs and feelings and the opportunity to present those both in her personal and professional lives was great fun to me as an author.
I invite you to read the book. Thanks.
