Bringing three books to market in six months has been an interesting and exciting experience. Several factors made it possible, including the fact that the opening chapters of two of the books — The Deadly Samaritan and Equinox — actually were written thirty-five years ago and then sat buried in an old zip drive until this past spring.
But that’s a scene for another book! (Killer Dead, Victim Alive is a 2023 creation from start to finish.)
Two team members — beta reader Haley Craig and cover designer Lizbe Coetzee — played important roles in helping me get all three books to the finish line. And I thank them.
Haley, who lives in Belfast, is a wonderfully attentive and focused reader/editor with an extraordinary talent for reading my mind from thousands of miles away and being from a different generation. Her suggestions, ideas, and occasional “no, no, no!” were all greatly appreciated!
Lizbe, meanwhile, lives in the Northern Cape in South Africa and is a graphic designer, freelance interior designer, freelance illustrator, and artist. She created all three covers for me: two for psychological thrillers about serial killers and a third — in a complete turnaround — for an inspirational (and, hopefully, uplifting) novel about the power and potential of believing.
I wholeheartedly recommend both of them.
Best.
